Migration Advice

Hi everyone,

I have been playing with Universal Dashboard Community Edition version 2.7 for a few months and I have built some really cool dashboards for myself.

I have tried searching for some information about how to migrate to the new Powershell Universal stuff, but I can’t seem to find anything. From what I gather, the new installer is an MSI package so it installs like a proper application now?

Is there a ‘for dummies’ like thread or blog that explains how to port my dashboards over to the new project of Powershell Universal? I have read that the community version is no longer supported or actively developed, so I was wondering if I will be able to use my old dashboards with Powershell Universal?

Sorry if I missed a thread but I can’t seem to find anything.

Thanks

G

Hey,
https://docs.ironmansoftware.com/dashboard/dashboards/migrating-from-universal-dashboard-2.9
Is the page you’ll need for the migration doc.
Not sure how big the differences are between 2.7 and 2.9 though, personally i’d be tempted to update the module as you are to 2.9 make sure everything is still happy and then try migrate to universal with 2.9.1

I didnt hear anything about community not being developed though?

Thank you very much! I will try and upgrade the version and see what happens.

Yes I saw it on the FAQ when I was reading through the site.

Ah I gotcha, so the free version hasnt gone away as such its just being rolled into one product which makes sense!
