Cannot create Scripts folders in GUI

Hi,

I have never been able to create folders in the Scripts part of PSU.

When I hit the ‘Create new folder’ button, enter a name and hit OK i get a simple red “Error” msg in the gui. and in the log it spews this:
It happens regardless of what APPPool identity I use (local system vs service account).

Actually, i can see that the folders do get created in the scripts folder C:\inetpub\_Beta.MiddlewareDashboard.Data\Scripts

they just don’t appear in the gui.

This is a bug and I see the issue that’s causing this. The problem is with the git sync. Since it’s throwing that exception, it’s not registering the folder as created which is why the second exception happens.

I’ll open an issue and get this resolved in 2.8.3. It should be a relatively easy fix.

Still an issue with 2.9.2 :slight_smile:

Edit: Maybe not.
I noticed that the scripts folder wasnt synced to Github, and read the docs stating “Anything inside the repository is synced” my Script folder was C:\inetpub\_Beta.MiddlewareDashboard.Data\Scripts, which I instead updated to C:\inetpub\_Beta.MiddlewareDashboard.Data\UniversalAutomation\Repository\Scripts

Now Creating folders does work (Woo).

Now, I’m not sure what the blank folder here is - it just shows the same as “repository”

Still only seeing the .universal and Dashboards folder in git though - not sure if thats by design, the docs seems to suggest otherwise.

Edit 2 - Just took about an hour for the scripts folder to appear

I think this is actually an issue with git itself. If you create an empty folder in git, it won’t show up as a change. You’ll have to create a file within the folder before git will recognize it as a change.

I am having the same issue on 2.10.2. I am not using git sync, in fact it is blocked here where I work.

Create folder throws an error message only. Folder is created but doesn’t show on the web console. I have moved data to D:\ on the windows 2019 host.
