I have a call with another user seeing this problem in the next hour and will let you know what we find.

I think we have gotten to the bottom of it. I have a new build here that resolved the issue for the other user. Can you please try to see if resolves it for you as well?

The build number is 922381443

https://imsreleases.z19.web.core.windows.net/

It was installed but now the service will not start and when manually started this is the result.

icrosoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.1999]

C:\Windows\system32>universal.server.exe
Error:
An assembly specified in the application dependencies manifest (Universal.Server.deps.json) was not found:
    package: 'Google.Protobuf', version: '3.9.1'
    path: 'lib/netstandard2.0/Google.Protobuf.dll'

C:\Windows\system32>

I’ve gotten to the bottom of this error as well. This is the same issue that was causing the 1.5 → 2.0 upgrade. The MSI was failing to lay down certain files during upgrades for some reason.

I’ve published a new nightly to resolve this.

https://imsreleases.blob.core.windows.net/universal-nightly/925085083/PowerShellUniversal.2.0.3.msi

This build should also successfully upgrade from 1.5.x to 2.0.x

@adam Thanks for the quick response with this. Confirmed 5.1 is working on 2.0.3.

Thanks again,
Chris
